Supplies you’ll need to create your own DIY Boho Wall Art:
- Wall Décor Surface
- “Boho Soul” Transfer from Belles and Whistles
- Fluff Dixie Belle Chalk Paint
- Dixie Belle Clear Coat Satin
For today’s Boho-inspired project, I started with the “Boho Soul” Transfer from Belles and Whistles. This is a new product line from Dixie Belle and I can see it coming in handy for simple projects that make a big impact.
You’ll need a surface to work with when using the transfer. I got this piece at Hobby Lobby on deep clearance and just painted over the initial that was on it with two coats of Dixie Belle Chalk Paint in the color Fluff.
Cut the transfer you want to use so it’s easy to manage. I used one of the large floral/feather transfers and then layered one of the little feathers with it. Yes! You can layer the transfers to create the look you are going for.
Once I knew where I wanted to place the transfer, I pealed the backer sheet off and put that side down on my surface. Use the stick/applicator that comes in the kit and rub quite hard to allow the transfer to adhere to the surface. You’ll want to work from the outside edge inward and may find that taping the transfer down holds it in place better while applying.
Then, slowly peel back the clear plastic piece as you go. If the image sticks to the plastic, lay it back down and keep rubbing. You want it to fully release from the clear piece. To finish things off, I added a layer of Dixie Belle Clear Coat Satin.
All finished!! Now that has to be one of the simplest projects I’ve ever done.
The Belles and Whistles Transfers can be used on most surfaces, including furniture. There are lots of fun designs too!
