Come with me for my Chicken Coop Reveal! We’ve worked hard to create the perfect space for our hens & today I’ll give you a closer look.
If you follow me on social media, you’ve already seen a few sneak peeks of our chicken coop, chickens and the shenanigans associated with raising hens. But today, I want to give you an up-close look with a full Chicken Coop Reveal. I’ll show you what our coop looks like and explain how we’ve upgraded it a bit for the girls. Now…what to name it?!?

Here’s a look at the coop building process:
The coop that we purchased is from Tractor Supply. Unfortunately, they don’t seem to have this exact coop anymore, but they do have a lot of different ones to choose from.
You know I couldn’t leave well enough alone. I had to paint/stain it to make it my own! This No Pain Gel Stain in the color American Honey did a nice job adding some warmth to the coop.
You can find the Gel Stain I used HERE.
I think the girls like the upgraded paint job!
We decided to add an automatic gate so the girls can get out in the run if we aren’t home. This also ensures they are locked up safely at dark. I’m really amazed at how smart they are. They instinctively go back in the hen house at dark whether they are in the run or out free ranging.
We also built a bridge to go over the area in our backyard where the water drains off when it rains. This helps everyone not get so muddy!
When Mr. Rustic made the bridge for me, I had him save some scraps to make little shutters for the coop. I used the same Dixie Belle stain for them as well as the bridge.

Love everything! I can see you crossing over that bridge every morning with coffee in your hand and calling to your bougie 🐓 hens. 🤣
It all looks beautiful and the bridge is my fave! Y’all really outdid yourselves. 😍
LOL, they are bougie for sure! However, if the hubs would allow me, it could be worse. In due time. (wink wink)
Thank you for the compliment on the bridge, it is one of my faves too, but girl, it was A LOT of work.
