Kid’s Craft No. 1 – Build-A-Snowman Kit:
As I mentioned above, these kits are designed to make crafting easy.
We’re simply going to paint, assemble and glue!
I used brown paint for the arms, orange for the carrot nose and white for the body of the snowman. All of these colors were applied with a makeup sponge.
Then, I used a small paint brush to add white, red and blue paint to the hat, scarf and buttons.
For the polka dot detail, I loaded some paint onto the end of a paint brush and applied it in a random pattern.
You can see that I added the polka dots to the red portions of both the hat and scarf.
Once all of the pieces are dry, it’s time to assemble and glue in place.
Here’s the finished product!
Kid’s Craft No. 2 – Santa Kit:
The Santa Kit is going to come together the same way the snowman did.
We’re simply going to paint, assemble and glue!
I used the colors black, white, red and gold for my Santa. Be sure to offer lots of different paint colors to your little artists to promote creativity!
Just as I did above, I used a makeup sponge and small brush to paint the different areas of the Santa.
A paint brush works best for larger areas and the makeup sponge is good for the tinier detail pieces.
I also mixed a bit of red and white paint to create a pink color for Santa’s nose.
Once all of the pieces were painted and dry, it was time to assemble and glue.
Here’s the final look! My Santa is very traditional, but yours can look however you like.
How cute are they!?! Add a small piece of string and hang them from your tree.
