Décor Idea No. 1 – Round Cutting Board
For the round cutting board/trivet, I started by painting the surface with the color Anchor.
Once dry, I sanded the entire piece using a heavier hand around the edges.
Then I used brown wax to “stain” the raw parts and applied a thin layer all over before adding the transfer.
Next, I placed the Fruits and Veggies Pattern Transfer on the surface of the board and used Bright White Chalkology Paste to add the details.
Once you’ve applied a thin even layer of paste to the transfer, peel it away.
When the paste is dry, finish it off with a light sanding.
And add a bit more of the brown wax to create that antiqued look.
Décor Idea No. 2 – Rooster
For the rooster, I stained the surface with Black Magic Voodoo Gel.
Then I sanded, added brown wax and applied the transfer.
Let dry and lightly sand to create a old distressed look. Then add more brown wax to antique the white paste. I love the black stain with the dark brown wax. It looks great in person!
Décor Idea No. 3 – Cow Head
Just like the rooster, the cow was stained with Black Magic Voodoo Gel, sanded and antiqued with brown wax.
I switched up the paste for the transfer and used Black Velvet. It’s also important to note that I did not sand and distress at the end. I love the tone on tone!
The Rooster I used today comes in three sizes! You can get them all by shopping with Twin Knobs Woodworks!
