- Hair Extension Loop Needle Threader
For this project, I used the pictured ribbon as my color inspiration. That’s the best part of making your own ornaments, you can use the colors that fit best with your Christmas décor!
I started by painting the tree surfaces black. A makeup sponge works well for painting small surfaces, so that’s what I used for this project.
Once the base color was dry, it was time to add stencil details. I used the Holiday Joy Stencil from Bells and Whistles. Both ornament shapes were created to perfectly fit this stencil.
Next, use a makeup sponge to add the gold and white tree details to the tree cutouts.
Once the tree stencils had been applied, I used a toothbrush to splatter coordinating paint colors over the entire surface.
To finish them off, I added twine for hanging. I also added beads to mine. And you know me, I painted my white beads gold to coordinate – cuz I’m a lil’ extra!
Next up are the round ornaments!
I painted these using the same black, white and gold color scheme.
Simply add your base coat color and go in with coordinating colors for the stencil details.
