Hello Spring Sign Kit Craft Supply List:
- “Hello Spring” Sign Kit
- Prickly Pear Silk All-In-One Paint
- Midnight Green Silk All-In-One Paint
- Whitecap Silk All-In-One Paint
- Tobacco Road Voodoo Gel Stain
- Makeup Sponge
- Gorilla Super Glue
Start by gathering your sign kit and the colors you’ll be using to paint with. I decided on Voodoo Gel Stain in the color Tobacco Road and the colors Prickly Pear, Midnight Green and Whitecap from Silk All-In-One Mineral Paint.
To begin, I added a bit of the gel stain to the base of the sign and applied it to the entire surface using a clean cloth.
Be sure to cover the entire surface and let dry.
Next, I used the color Whitecap to paint the words “Hello Spring.” When applying paint to my sign pieces, I always use a makeup sponge.
Using the same sponge that was just used for the white, I dipped it into the green paint and then stippled it onto the surface to create a variegated green leaf.
You can see the variegated color pattern on the leaf portions in the picture below.
Next, I grabbed a clean makeup sponge and painted the circle detail that will be placed along the edge of the sign using the color Prickly Pear.
PRO TIP: Pick colors for your project that fit your home best! Think of the season you are decorating for and how it will all fit into your overall home décor style.
Once all of the sign pieces are dry, it’s time to glue everything together.
Add a bit of Gorilla Super Glue to each piece and set in place.
Now you have a finished sign just in time for Spring!
You can see that I added two holes and a piece of twine for hanging to mine. Fell free to use whatever fits your space best when deciding on how to display your sign.
