To get this cutie back into tip top shape, I used Hemp Seed Oil to refresh & condition the wood. You’ll see how the oil completely changes the look of the piece in the photos below. I’m so happy with how it turned out and I want to share how you can do the same thing. Let’s get started!

What is Hemp Seed Oil & where can I get it?
Hemp seed oil is an all-natural way to created a beautiful finish on raw wood & even painted furniture pieces. It dries to a matte finish, cures in 30 days and is safe to use on nearly any surface since it’s food safe. I like to use Hemp Seed Oil from Dixie Belle Chalk Paint.
You can see here that this little wagon had seen better days. The wood was dry and needed to be sealed from further water damage. I also wanted to preserve the beautiful rustic wood look of the piece. That’s how I knew that Hemp Seed Oil was the best product for the job!
Before you begin any project, be sure you are working with a clean, dry surface. To prepare this project for it’s makeover, I lightly sanded the surface with a palm sander and then wiped it down with a tack cloth to be sure it was free of dust and debris.
To get the oil onto your surface, simply put a bit on a rag and apply. You can also brush it on with a chip brush like the one found HERE. Once applied, the oil will begin to penetrate the wood. If you end up with too much in one area, just wipe it away with a clean cloth.
Look at how fresh the wood looks after the oil has been applied. It’s even better that the process was so simple! Grab some Hemp Seed Oil HERE & be sure to share your projects with me on Facebook, Instagram and Pinterest!
