Merry Christmas Shiplap Sign Supplies:
- Faux Shiplap Round
- Christmas Holly Berry Door Hanger Kit
- Christmas Vine Door Hanger Kit
- Barn Red Dixie Belle Chalk Paint
- Evergreen Dixie Belle Chalk Paint
- Anchor All-In-One Mineral Paint
- Whitecap All-In-One Mineral Paint
- Paint Brushes
- Makeup Sponges
- Sandpaper or Gator Micro Zip Sanding Tool
- Gorilla Super Glue
To begin, paint the entire surface of the faux shiplap sign with the color Whitecap.
While the base coat on the sign is drying, paint the other pieces for the sign.
First, use the color Barn Red to paint the word Christmas.
I like to use a makeup sponge to paint these smaller surfaces.
Also be sure to add the Barn Red color to the berry cutouts.
Next, use the color Evergreen to paint the leaf cutout.
Finally, use the color Anchor for the word Merry.
Once the shiplap sign base is dry, use sandpaper to distress the surface. You can distress as much or as little as you like focusing on the areas that would naturally distress over time.
Finish off your sign by gluing all of the cutouts into place.
This is how I will be displaying my finished sign!
You could also add some twine or ribbon to hang the sign on a wall or door.
Here’s another Merry Christmas Sign Idea!
For this one I used the same shiplap sign surface and paint colors, but choose a different set of cutouts. You will use the same process as above to paint, distress and assemble this sign idea.
