Here’s what you’ll need to make your own personalized baby shower gift:
- Personalized Baby Shower Gift
- Desert Rose All-In-One Mineral Paint
- Tobacco Road VooDoo Gel Stain
- Makeup Sponges
- Starbond Medium Instant Adhesive
- Bow
When I was asked to do this project, I was given the theme of woodland animals and the above photo. Girl, I think we pulled it off. Her mommy loves it!
I started this project with a DIY kit from Twin Knobs Woodworks. Kits from Twin Knobs Woodworks come with all of the wood pieces needed for the project. All you’ll need to add is the paint and /or stain plus any other embellishments to finish it.
For mine, I choose to use Tobacco Road VooDoo Gel Stain and Silk All-In-On Paint in the color Desert Rose.
First, I added a layer of the Tobacco Road gel stain to the name “Harper” using a clean cloth.
Then, I added a layer of the Desert Rose paint to the name “Olivia” using a makeup sponge.
PRO TIP: When painting with a makeup sponge – load the paint onto the sponge, offload any excess and then add layers of paint using a pouncing motion.
Once everything was dry, I used a medium hold instant adhesive to assemble.
Finally, I finished it off with a piece of twine for hanging and a bow. Isn’t this a lovely way to welcome a baby!
