Supplies you’ll need to make your own Pick Your Own Pumpkin Sign:
- Round Wooden Cutting Board Surface
- Wooden Pumpkin Cutout
- Caviar Dixie Belle Chalk Paint
- Fluff Dixie Belle Chalk Paint
- Clear Dixie Belle Wax
- Paint Brush
- Hand Sander
- Black Velvet Chalkology Paste
- Orange Peel Chalkology Paste
- Pumpkin Patch Chalk Couture Transfer
- Squeegee
- Hot Glue
- Hot Glue Gun
- Gorilla Super Glue
- Embellishments – I used Buffalo Plaid Ribbon, a Cardstock Tag and Raffia.
Begin by painting both the wooden cutting board and pumpkin cut out with the color Caviar and let dry.
I get all of my wooden surfaces and cut outs from Twin Knobs Woodworks. Visit their website HERE!
Then, I added clear wax to the wooden cutting board, but only in areas where I wanted to get the chippy paint look with my sander.
Once you have your wax where you’d like it, paint over the surface with the color Fluff. Let dry.
When your paint is dry, sand your piece where you believe the wax to be and then do a once over on the whole surface.
Now it’s time to add your Chalk Couture accents.
First, apply the Pumpkin Patch Transfer to the cutting board surface so the it is centered on the board.
Then, use the Black Velvet Chalkology Paste to add the words at the top and the bottom of the transfer.
Next, use the Orange Peel Chalkology Paste and center portion of the transfer to embellish the pumpkin cutout.
If you need more instructions on how to use Chalk Couture Transfers and Chalkology Paste, visit THIS POST.
Now it’s time to glue the pumpkin cut out to the larger surface and add some embellishments.
I used Gorilla Super Glue to tack the pumpkin in place and a hot glue gun to put everything in place.
I also decided to use the portion of the transfer that says 10 cents to create a cardstock tag for my finished product.
Add ribbon, raffia and any other embellishment that fit with your decor style.
Isn’t the finished product perfect for a fall farmhouse?!?
