Grab these Chalk Couture supplies for your Christmas décor projects and handmade gifts:
- Project Surface
- Chalk Couture Transfer
- Chalkology Paste
- Squeegee
- Fuzzing Cloth
- Transfer Trimmers – Optional, but great to have on hand when using transfers that require cutting.
Every Chalk Couture project begins with a surface. The surface is simply whatever item you are applying your transfer and paste to. For this project, I used an 18×18 frame that I had at home. You can find surfaces for your projects on my chalk site HERE or save some money and use something you already have.
The next thing every Chalk Couture project needs is a transfer. Unfortunately, the transfer I used is sold out. Other transfers that would work well for this type of Christmas décor include: ‘Tis the Season, Although It’s Been Said and Bless This Farmhouse Christmas. And remember, Chalk Couture Transfers are reusable up to 10-12 times. This makes them a great investment!
At this point you’ll need to “fuzz” your transfer and apply it to the surface. “Fuzzing” a transfer is done by applying the sticky portion of the transfer to a clean cloth and removing it several times until some of the tackiness had worn off. This will make removing it from the surface easier. I like to keep a Fuzzing Cloth on hand for this part of my projects. You could also use a clean cloth you have at home.
Now that your transfer has been fuzzed and placed on the surface, you’ll need to grab the next few things every Chalk Couture project needs – Chalkology Paste and a Squeegee. I used Black Velvet Chalkology Paste and a small Squeegee for this project. Be sure to grab your favorite Chalkology Paste colors and a few different sized Squeegees so you’re ready for whatever you decide to create.
PRO TIP: When using larger transfers, I like to apply the Chalkology Paste in sections. I then peel and lay the transfer back down lightly and continue with the rest until finished.
Here’s the finished product! See how fast and easy that came together and all I needed was a surface, a transfer, Chalkology Paste and a squeegee!
