Today, we’re going to be using the “Sweet Tee & Sunshine” Transfer from Chalk Couture to dress up a few summertime décor items.
First up is the pair of cutouts from Twin Knobs Woodworks that we will be turning into lemons!
To begin, I mixed the colors Fluff and Rebel Yellow to be used on the base of the lemons.
You can see here that I used the custom color on everything but the rind.
For the rind of the lemon, I used the color Daisy.
Next, add a layer of clear wax using an applicator sponge to seal in the paint before adding the transfer details.
Now it’s time to add the lemon details using the Chalk Couture Transfer. Begin by cutting the individual transfer off of the sheet.
Then, “fuzz” the new transfer by placing it on a clean cloth and removing it. Do this a few times or until the transfer isn’t as sticky.
Next, place the Transfer onto the surface of the lemon.
And add a layer of Sunny Side Chalkology Paste using a small squeegee.
Once dry, I drilled a hole into the top of the half lemon shape and added a Ring Loop Craft Wire Clip.
Now it’s time to create the cutting board décor!
Start by painting the Interchangeable cutting board blank with the color Fluff.
Once dry, place the transfer and use Black Velvet Chalkology Paste for the letters.
Then use the color Sunny Side to add the decorative accents.
Now you’re ready to place the blank on your cutting board and to style it with your lemon cutouts.
I used the “Pantry Labels” Transfer, Sunny Side paste and Black Velvet paste to dress up some cardstock for the half lemon. Feel free to personalize yours with a photo, special message or menu! This is going to be perfect for all of my summer gatherings!!
