Surface Ideas: One of the best things about Chalk Couture is the fact that it can be used in so many different ways. As you will see in the photos below, I used this one transfer to decorate three different surfaces. These surfaces include a fabric banner flag, a thrift store frame and a snowman cut-out that I made myself. Want that snowman cut-out? Message me on Facebook for purchasing details!
Now, let’s go over how I added the “There’s Snow Place Like Home” transfer to my surfaces.
I’m going to show you step-by-step on a thrift store frame, but this basic technique can be used across all of your surfaces.
Start by using the Candy Apply Chalology Paste to fill in the snowman’s scarf. Add an even layer of the paste and wipe back any excess using your multi-tool. Then, repeat the process to fill in the snowman’s hat with the color Black Velvet.
Next, use your multi-tool to fill in the carrot nose with the color Orange Peel.
Once the nose is filled in, finish the look by covering the letters with the color Couture Teal.
For this small frame, I only filled in the word “snow”. You will notice that on the other two larger surfaces, I filled in all of the words.
To finish this guy off, I simply added a few eyes using the same Couture Teal colored paste.
I just love how this turned out! This transfer is super versatile and can be used with a number of different surfaces to create lots of unique looks. Think outside the box by adding eyes to one of the snowmen or just use pieces of the transfer – who says you have to use the whole thing! Here’s to having fun with your Chalk Couture projects by making them your own!
