This is what I used to personalize my tiered tray sign set:
- Wooden Cutout Set
- Fluff Dixie Belle Chalk Paint
- Florida Orange Dixie Belle Chalk Paint
- Tobacco Road Dixie Belle Gel Stain
- Dixie Belle Clear Coat Satin
- Makeup Sponges
- Paint Brush
- Gorilla Super Glue
First, I used Dixie Belle VooDoo Gel Stain in the color Tobacco Road on the round frames and square base of our signs.
To apply the Gel Stain, simply use a towel to rub the gel into the surface. Be sure to wipe back any extra product.
Then, I grabbed my Florida Orange Dixie Belle Chalk Paint and a makeup sponge.
I used this color for the pumpkin, “Fall” and “Hello Pumpkin” sign inserts.
When using a makeup sponge to paint, simply pounce the product onto the surface in thin coats until you get your desired coverage.
Finally, I used Fluff to paint the round sign bases.
I used a brush to apply the paint for both of these pieces.
Then, I cleaned up the shiplap lines with an exacto knife.
Finally, I applied a layer of Clear Coat Satin. This can also be done with a basic paint brush.
Here’s a quick look at how I stained the frame of the “Fall” sign and then used Florida Orange for the middle section.
Once everything was dry, I used Gorilla Super Glue to assemble the signs.
This is so perfect for a tiered tray with three tiers!! So cute and versatile. Just change up the colors you used to paint them to fit your personal style.
