The supplies I used to embellish my unfinished wood bunny cutout include:
- Unfinished Wood Bunny Cutout
- Dixie Belle Chalk Paint in the color Vintage Duck Egg
- “G” Wooden Cutout Embellishment
- Dixie Belle Chalk Paint in the color Fluff
- Cotton Pom Pom
- Ribbon
- Paint Brush – I used a DBP Synthetic Brush in the size Oval Small for the bunny and a Mini Flat for the “G” embellishment.
- Hot Glue Gun
- Hot Glue
Here’s how I finished my bunny cutout:
To begin, I applied a base coat of Dixie Belle Chalk Paint in the color Vintage Duck Egg to the entire surface of the bunny.
PRO TIP: Be sure to paint the sides of the cutout to give your project a professionally finished look.
While that was drying, I used DB Chalk Paint in the color Fluff to paint the “G” embellishment cutout using a small flat brush.
Once everything is dry, use your hot glue gun to put all the piece together. First, I positioned and glued the “G” into place.
Then, I added a cotton pom pom for the bunny’s tail.
To finish everything off, I added a ribbon around the bunny’s neck.
As you can see, this simple project can be changed up in so many ways. Feel free to use paint colors that reflect your home’s current look and omit any of the embellishments as you see fit! Crafting is about having fun and making things your own. Get creative and use your imagination on this one.
