Supplies you’ll need to make your own Valentine’s Day DIY Wooden Signs:
- Wood Blocks
- Salt Water Silk All-In-One Mineral Paint
- Anchor Silk All-In-One Mineral Paint
- Fiery Sky Silk All-In-One Mineral Paint
- Paint Brush
- Valentine’s Slimcuts
- Loveshack Chalk Couture Transfer
- Black Velvet Chalkology Paste
- Candy Apple Chalkology Paste
- Small Squeegee
- Starbond Medium Instant Adhesive
I started this project with three wooden blocks that were cut to match the size of the Valentine’s Slimcuts set from Chalk Couture. To make a set that perfectly matches mine you will need a 5.5″x5.5″, 8″x3.5″ and 6.25″x4.25″ sized block. Fee free to adjust that sizes based on your specific needs.
You can see below how each of the Slimcuts fit perfectly on the wooden blocks.
Next, paint each block as follows:
- 5.5″x5.5″ – Salt Water Silk All-In-One Mineral Paint
- 8″x3.5″ – Fiery Sky Silk All-In-One Mineral Paint
- 6.25″x4.25″ – Anchor Silk All-In-One Mineral Paint
When painting the wooden blocks, feel free to use whatever size paint brush you’re most comfortable with.
Depending on the paint you use, you may have to apply two coats.
You’ll also need to apply a coat of Fiery Red paint to the heart shaped Slimcut. Once painted, let all of those pieces dry.
Now it’s time to add the Chalk Couture Transfer accents.
On the Arrow Slimcut, I used Black Velvet Chalkology Paste and the arrow portion of the Loveshack Transfer.
For the Love Slimcut, I used Candy Apple Chalkology Paste and the love portion of the Loveshack Transfer.
Then, I used Black Velvet Chalkology Paste to add the be mine portion of the Loveshack Transfer to the bottom center of the 5.5″x5.5″ block.
Finally, for the heart Slimcut, I used Black Velvet Chalkology Paste and the plaid detail portion of the Loveshack Transfer.
Once everything that was just painted and Chalked is dry, it’s time to assemble.
I used a Medium Instant Adhesive, but you can use whatever adhesive you like best.
Here’s the finished product!
These fit perfectly on a tiered tray, but would also be adorable added to any vignette around your home.
