Here is a list of supplies you’ll need to make your own wood initial sign:
- Sign Frame
- Wood Letter Cutout
- No Pain Gel Stain in Walnut
- Dixie Belle Clear Coat
- Gorilla Super Glue
- Nail Gun
I started with a wood letter cutout from Twin Knobs Woodworks. These aren’t in stock on their website, but if you send them an email they can give you a quote on making one for you!
The only thing I did to the raw wood letter was apply a top coat to protect the wood.
I also added a clear coat to the raw wood frame portion.
Then, I used No Pain Gel stain in Walnut to add some color to the back of the frame. Once the stain was dry, I also added a top coat to this portion of the sign.
Now it’s time to put the sign together.
Glue the “G” onto the surface of the frame and then secure the frame to the sign using a nail gun.
I didn’t get one of the nails in good, so I used a nail setting tool to set it down a bit.
Here’s the finished product! The perfect personalized gift for any occasion.
