Grab these supplies to make your own wooden Christmas tree:
- Wooden Christmas Tree
- Wood Bundle
- Starbond Medium Instant Adhesive
- Hot Glue Gun
- Hot Glue Sticks
I started this project with a simple Christmas tree and wood bundle that I picked up at Hobby Lobby.
First, I cut the wood bundle into strips that fit onto the surface of the Christmas Tree and trunk.
This is what the pieces I cut out looked like next to the wooden tree.
Be sure to “dry fit” your cut pieces to make sure they properly fit before gluing them down. Just be sure they completely cover the surface of the tree.
You will have extra hanging over the sides.
Next, I used a Medium Instant Adhesive plus hot glue to glue the pieces onto the tree.
Once the glue was dry and the pieces were stable, I used a miter saw to remove the edges of the wood that were hanging over the sides of the tree.
And this is what I ended up with. Simple, rustic and PERFECT for any holiday vignette!! This one could be used into the winter months as well.
